The Ethiopian Electric Utility is working tirelessly to provide reliable, accessible, and sustainable electricity services across the country. As the backbone of Ethiopia's overall development, electricity plays a vital role in improving the lives of our people and supporting national progress. However, while electricity is an essential part of our daily lives, failure to observe safety precautions and proper usage practices can result in serious injuries, loss of life, and damage to property.
 <\/p>

For this reason, ensuring electrical safety at home and in the workplace is not a choice\u2014it is a shared responsibility that we all must uphold.
 <\/p>

As Ethiopia's electric utility service provider, safeguarding the safety of our employees, our valued customers, and the public during all electricity distribution and maintenance activities is our highest priority.
 <\/p>

Beyond delivering electricity, we are also committed to educating and raising public awareness so that our customers can protect themselves and their families from electrical hazards in their homes, workplaces, and communities.
 <\/p>

The principle of \"Safety First\" should not only guide our organization but also become a daily practice in every household and workplace.
 <\/p>

To strengthen this safety culture, the Utility conducts a Workplace Safety Campaign Week every three months. The campaign aims to enhance safety awareness, improve our service delivery, eliminate workplace hazards, and better protect our customers. Its primary objective is to encourage both our employees and our customers to give greater attention to electrical safety today than ever before.
 <\/p>

To achieve our shared goal of creating a safe and accident-free environment, we kindly ask all our valued customers to partner with us by:

Handling electrical installations and appliances in your homes and workplaces with care and ensuring they do not pose safety risks.

Immediately reporting any fallen electrical wires or other potentially dangerous electrical conditions to the Utility.
Following and applying all electrical safety messages and guidelines issued by the Utility.

Preventing illegal electrical connections and unauthorized wiring to protect yourself, your family, and your community.<\/p>

Giving Safety First priority enables us to live safely today and perform productively tomorrow. Before using any electrical appliance or equipment, make it a lifelong habit to place your safety first.

Finally, ensuring the safe use of electricity is a shared responsibility. I respectfully call upon all of you to continue working together with us in creating a safer environment for everyone.

Ethiopian Electric Utility (EEU) is more than just a provider of electricity\u2014it is the backbone of the nation\u2019s economic growth. Our services power industries, drive technological advancements, support tourism, agriculture, and mining, and ultimately serve as a foundation for Ethiopia\u2019s overall development. It is an honor to lead an organization that plays such a critical role in the daily lives of millions and in the socio-economic transformation of our country.<\/p>

At the outset, I would like to acknowledge both the achievements EEU has made and the challenges we continue to face. Significant progress has been made in expanding electricity access, modernizing our systems, and improving operational efficiency. However, we recognize that there is still much to be done to meet the expectations of our customers and stakeholders. Power outages and service quality issues remain key concerns, and we are fully aware of the impact they have on our valued customers.<\/p>

Together with my colleagues, we are committed to building on the positive strides already made while addressing existing challenges in a systematic and sustainable manner.  I sincerely extend my apologies, on behalf of the organization and myself, to our customers and stakeholders who have experienced service shortcomings.<\/p>
