The Ethiopian Electric Utility (EEU) is participating in the 3rd Water and Energy Week, organized by the Ministry of Water and Energy, where it is showcasing technologies being deployed to modernize and improve electricity services.
Held under the theme “Advancing Science-Based Policies and Partnerships for a Secure Water and Energy Future,” the event aims to promote the integrated use of water and energy resources, share experiences, showcase innovations, facilitate technology transfer, and develop practical solutions to sectoral challenges.
In an opening message delivered on behalf of the Minister of Water and Energy, Dr.-Ing. Habtamu Itefa, he emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional collaboration to transform Ethiopia’s water and renewable energy resources into sustainable development opportunities.
He also highlighted the need to strengthen collaboration among researchers, policymakers, service providers, investors, and communities to translate scientific research and knowledge into practical development outcomes.
The five-day event features research presentations, expert discussions on policies and transboundary resources, stakeholder forums, and exhibitions. It brings together ambassadors, researchers, policymakers, representatives of federal and regional institutions, development partners, academics, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
